March 22, 1961. The last film of the Apu Trilogy. The first film of the trilogy, “Pather Panchali” had played at the Avon in February 1959. The second film, “Aparajito” never played commercially in Providence but was shown a couple of years later at Brown University’s Faunce House Theatre in 35mm as part of the whole trilogy.
