The Odeon opened on Monday 9th April 1934. Opening Ceremony was performed by Sir Philip Richardson. Followed by the British Musical film ‘The Diplomatic Lover’ starring Harold French and Tamara Desni. Construction of the Odeon was carried out by T. H. Adamson & Sons of Putney London SW15. Interior Decorations by Hamptons of Pall Mall London with seating and fitted carpet by W. W. Turner Birmingham.
