Hoyts De Luxe photo of proscenium and (very large) screen published in the Herald just prior to opening 26 March 1915. Cost of building construction was reportedly 40,000 pounds. Later, as the Esquire, it would become the first Melbourne cinema to install Todd-AO 70mm in 1959.
