What happened to the Loop Theatre? The upper left diorama is the International Village - a $3+ million project that was going to replace Corktown / Skid Row inclusive of the Loop Theatre. Then when the real wrangling began, a second diorama at upper right and then the project foundered. The impacted areas are shown below. Those cleared spaces were makeshift parking lots and fields in 1965 when the International Village was pronounced DOA.
