To complete the story, this is the Victoria Hall at the left of the New Empress Cinema site. It opened as a dance hall in 1929, but later showed films. Pre 1929 that hall was the Boiler House for the power generator house on the left. When generation ceased the boiler house was sold and the generator house became a transformer station providing power to St Ann’s and the trolleybus system. It was never a tram depot.
