Pictured here are Coffeyville residents Talmadge (“Tal”) Lee Richardson (03.31.1906-06.04.1976) and his wife Naomi Pearl (“Pearl”) James-Richardson (05.28.1918-01.31.1998). The Richardson’s were extremely important figures in the cinema history of Coffeyville. They purchased the Midland in 1960 and Pearl continued operating it until her death in 1998. They also owned the Tackett Theatre, Tal’s Drive-In Theatre and The Skyline Drive-In Theatre (they owned the Skyline from 1961-1975); all 4 theatres were located in Coffeyville, Kansas.
