Cameo Cinema Cliftonville

Photograph of the Cameo taken in Summer of 1954 looking back on social history. The copy is not good, however, even this photograph is very rare and interesting to view as it shows there has been no change since opening in May 1935. Although looking very run down, no one could say that the Cameo did not display their films well for the holiday makers who flocked to this very popular holiday resort, seating only 400 was possibly due to holiday makers going on rainy days or evenings and probably even less out of season. Being the smallest cinema that Mollo & Egan internally designed and easily recognised by the Eugene Mollo paybox at entrance, with rounded white four tier overlapping base, glazed cashiers top with seat prices and film times above.
