I took this photograph in 1964 it shows the sad demise of the former Globe Electric theatre. During the depression of the 1930’s it was taken over by the Salvation Army, whose name is still over the entrance which they closed in the 1950’s. It was still clinging on in the swinging sixties as proved by the Chelsea fans graffiti naming their hero Peter Osgood (Ossie) as seen on the left side boarded up window. I lived close to the Blues ground from 1964 - 1982 and attended many games, so this area has fond memories for me.
