In 1965, a decision was made to raze the Arcadia Theatre. Before heavy demo work started, the balcony crashed to the main (second) floor causing this damage to the foundation of the theatre and its main floor. The scary fact was that the building had previously been at capacity less than five months earlier. Fortuitous timing to condemn the building in April of 1965 paved the way for this process.
