Another view of the 1923 ornate curved balcony and ceiling

Taken on the 4th June 2005. This shows the balcony circle, with it’s ornate decorative work. This open day was the last opportunity the public had to see inside the building. It had already had the 1958 interior removed at this point and within the circle balcony, they had started to removed the seating. This is prior to the “Transformation” project, which saw the Leeds Grand Theatre renovated and the Howard Assembly Rooms “restored” to it’s appearance in the 1880s. The ceiling and decorative curved circle were ripped out as part of the reversion of the building to an earlier period.
