Here’s a postcard of downtown Chariton. The tall building is the Ritz. And to to right is the spot occupied by the former Lincoln Theatre – a predecessor and then neighbor of the Ritz at 914 Court. The Lincoln had burned in 1930 due to faulty wiring and - if you strain your eyes - was replaced by the Woolworth’s store moving from a previous spot in downtown to there.
