The Kiva Theatre operated on a 20-year lease fulfilling it from 1933 to 1953 in a converted retail space that returned to retail space upon its exit. The American Indian inspired atmospheric architecture was both a doff of the cap to the local American Indian tradition as well as dipping into kitsch.
