Above photograph was taken several days before the official opening. Designed by Architects Segar & Geoffrey Owen of W. & S Owen of Warrington for Cheshire County Cinemas. Construction by Walter Peak (Warrington) Ltd., with steelwork by Parks Ltd., of Northwich. Internal fibrous works, decorations and proscenium curtains were by G. H. Morton & Son Ltd., Bold Street Liverpool. Harrison Ltd London supplied the stadium seating of slightly over 1,000.

With WW2 not many months away availability of building supplies were difficult because of a Government Moratorium, the circle, cafe and organ were all removed from the plans. Later in 1972 when a modernisation programme was implemented for the Regal, screen 2 was built on the side land which originally was to have had the cafe.
