Great photos, Mr. Roe. And great memories for me. I joined Mecca in May, 1969 as a trainee manager when the Coronation was a new bingo club. [Disclosure: I hated bingo at the time but needed a job!] By year-end I was the manager and with help from good staff we built the business until it was one of the top clubs in London. I moved to Streatham Hill Theatre in 1973 but went back to Manor Park in 1975. Wonderful patrons, East Londoners, and terrific staff. I live in the USA now where bingo is still played in church halls for small prizes but I still have fond memories of Mecca.
