Rpeating his accomplishment from 1966, eleven months in 1968 saw a Sidney Poitier movie running in a Columbus theater. Nationally, Poitier was at his peak, box office-wise with three top 13 film hits in 1967 and extending into 1968 with first runs and second runs. Also, the re-release of the Academy Award Best Picture “In the Heat of the Night” boosted his popularity in 1968.
