I hope it’s ok if I reproduce this photo, with acknowledgement to Cinema Treasures & Clive Greathurst, for an exhibition that I am planning as a centenary tribute to actor Reg Varney (1916-2008). The exhibition will be at Fairlynch Museum in Budleigh Salterton, Devon UK, from 25 March 2016 until end of September. Varney performed as a musician at this cinema and others in London (Prince of Wales, Harrow Road; Carlton Cinema, Islington) in the 1930s. His autobiography ‘The Little Clown’ sadly out of print gives good background and is well worth snapping up if you see a secondhand copy. Really enjoyable read. Michael
