Leo Theatre
The Queen had a cigar smoking section in its box seats and the cigar store on the corner outlasted the Queen’s name change to the Leo. And then it outlasted the Leo. The Leo closed April 15, 1953 and demolition wasn’t supposed to be far behind. But the bulldozer didn’t come until November 1955 and reports said that the Queen’s cigar store continued right up until the end. This picture from 1955 suggests those reports were accurate.
