Wynnum Manly Historical Society Inc writes - The old Crown Empress became the Imperial Theatre under the ownership of Mr Geraghty in 1930. It is situated Corner Esplanade and Florence Street.

The screen stood above a small stage. Long canvas seats were topped with white calico headrests. The theatre was so popular during the 1930’s and 40’s bookings were needed to secure a seat each Saturday night.
