Francesca Bertini (1892-1985) appeared in the documentary about her career as a silent screen actress, “The Last Diva - Francesca Bertini”, 1982, by Gianfranco Mingozzi. It was shown by the Italian Film Society of RI here at the Cable Car on October 9, 1988. Her most famous silent film was “Assunta Spina,” 1915. In the documentary she was a lucid and feisty presence, despite being in her 90’s.
