The connection between My Fair Lady and Brisbane’s former Her Majesty’s Theatre (which was located at 193 Queen Street) is historic: The legendary stage version of My Fair Lady was famously hosted at the venue during its original Australian runs, specifically commencing seasons there in 1961 and returning in 1970.

The Cinema Run In 1965 - The theatre temporarily closed to install advanced Todd-AO 70mm projectors and a six-channel stereophonic sound system specifically to screen the Oscar-winning film adaptation of My Fair Lady, which opened on Dec Ist 1965 and ran for a massive 33 week season.
