Oak Cinema
The new Selly Oak Cinema built for Associated British Cinemas opening 16th December 1935. Architect Harold S. Scott, A.R.I.B.A. Contractors for the rebuilding of the cinema and builders of the original Oak Cinema were T. Elvins & Son, Soho Hill, Birmingham. Interior decoration and modelled plasterwork throughout the cinema completed by Clark & Fenn Ltd. London. Total seating for stalls and circle 1,518, seating and fitted carpet were supplied and installed by H. Lazarus & Son, London. Simplex Projectors installed together with a Westrex Electric sound system.
