Earlier this month the owners of the Silver City Cinema announced a name change to honour Broken Hill movie industry icon, John Wren.

John and his family owned and operated the cinema for four decades before selling in 2022.

Christine Hussein Thomas writes - Thank you goes out to the Musicians Club - Not only has the club kept our Cinema going . But to honour our John Wren with this plaque is overwhelming for our community.

Amanda Johnson writes - So good. A proud BH moment. The cinema was an institution to us all growing up. Big thanks to John and his family to the fact that it still exists.
