A bulldozer pushes over the concession stand at the Starlite Drive-In Theater which is being demolished to make way for who knows what. The 14-acre site on North Fresno Street just south of East Shaw Avenue is owned by the Macy’s department store firm, but the company says it will not build a store there, but at a site in Clovis. Macy’s officials were not available to explain what the demolish team is clearing the lot for. The city rezoned the property to allow construction of the store, but not until after Macy’s announced it would locate at Clovis and Shaw avenues in Clovis. The corner drive-in has been in operation for about 30 years.
