Embassy Cinema Peterborough
Photograph September 1937 to the left a group of sub-contractors discuss works in progress, left above the scenic dock entrance door the rounded stone base displays Embassy Theatre in mauve neon lettering matching neon strands attached to eight horizontal fins that give an extra dimension to what otherwise would be a wall of boring windows, fourteen of which provided daylight to dressing rooms. At ground level is the cinema name Embassy in red giant lettering also lit with mauve neon. Architect David Nye used this similar letter idea for the Embassy Fareham the following year, opening 19th April 1938.
