OPENING OF ROYAL THEATRE TO TAKE PLACE ON WEDNESDAY NEXT. BIG PROGRAMME IN AID OF HOSPITAL.

The official opening of the new Theatre Royal in Forrest Street will take place on Wednesday afternoon, to which the general public are invited per medium of an advertisement elsewhere in this issue.
The ceremony will be performed by the Mayor (Mr. J. S. Jackson) at 3 o'clock, following which all ladies in attendance will be entertained at afternoon tea In the Municipal Chambers at the invitation of the Ladies' Hospital Committee.
The gentlemen will be the guests of the management at the Premier Hotel. At 4 o'clock the first picture programme will be screened, this taking the form of a free matinee for all children. The star picture will be “The College Boob.”
In the evening a grand opening pic ture programme will be presented in aid of the Collie Hospital Fund, the free use of the theatre having been given by the management for the occasion. Two star attractions will be screened with music by the Royal orchestra.
During an interval in the programme Mr. Stan. Hackett will render “Because” as a cornet solo. Particulars relative to prices of admission will be found on page five of this issue, the box plan being now open at McGeachie’s Central Newsagency without any extra charge for booking.
