John E. Walker had opened The Orpheum as a live venue hall on September 14, 1911 within the existing Masonic Temple fraternal hall. On March 14, 1914, it converted to motion pictures (ad at left). It converted to sound to remain viable. As the new Blaine Theatre was being completed in 1948, the Orpheum was closed permanently on August 8, 1948 with ad at right.
