First Artists was a production company founded by Paul Newman, Sidney Poitier, and Barbra Streisand with some other movie industry businessmen. Later, Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman became partners. Poitier produced and starred in four movies: “A Warm December” (1973), “Uptown Saturday Night (1974) which had its first-run engagement in the RKO Palace, "Let’s Do It Again” (1975), and “A Piece of the Action” (1977).
