Alpine Theatre c. 1960
The Alpine Theatre at Orbisonia was located in the center of Orbisonia’s business district. In the 1960s, the front of the Alpine was made of native stone and brick. The building is 38 feet wide and 125 feet long. Two massive pillars on either side at the front of the stage reached 32 feet in height. The seating capacity was 450. The house was painted in Afghan red, pilot blue, and rich cream. The floor is the bowl type with reverse pitch on the screen end to eliminate sore neck muscles and eye strain. On the stage behind the screen are triple RCA speakers, which use a HiFi sound system.
