Milwain Theater
The ad that says it all about the end of the Milwain. New operator Louis Aldridge relit the Milwain one last time on a subleasing agreement. They wanted Disney. He gave them Disney. They came to see “The Godfather.” And they came to a midnight screening of Jacqueline Giroux in “The Erotic Adventures of Zorro” on April 7, 1974. That was ostensibly the end of the line with Aldridge arrested in a raid and then found guilty of exhibiting an obscene film - which the film wasn’t but that was the message sent. The theatre was then offered for sale without takers. The Milwain was finally razed in December of 1991 to rid it from the tax role By Leon Terry.
