The last showtime at the Rialto in July 31, 1968 - and an auction of everything in the theater takes place prior to year’s end. That incredible white marble staircase in photos went for $450. Giant chandeliers from $75 with as many as 1,500 prisms. The giant candelabras went for $45. And lots of unsold fixtures got smashed by the wrecking ball which followed.
