For many children the highlight of the week was the visit to the local cinema for the children’s matinee – the cinema club. Oh, the thrill of the silver screen for children in the 1940’s/1950s & 60’s - Yes there was great fun to be had at the cinema on Saturday’s past at the Children’s Cinema Club! - We joined the club and received our badge which opened us to a new world of serials, cartoons and Three Stooge 2 reel comedies, never to be forgotten. So many fond memories.
