Fox Open-Air Picture Theatre 450 Nepean Highway, Melbourne 1920

An elevated photo shows the beautifully presented Fox Open Air Picture Theatre. The theatre stood on the corner of Thames Promenade and Station Street and was owned by Thomas Sangston, a well known local identity. It was the first picture theatre in Chelsea and silent films were shown there until it closed in 1923. Notice the expensive seats under the covered area
