Photograph taken for opening day, with view of front auditorium stalls area showing the intense decoration, commencing with the closed stylized satin house curtains designed in colours of peach, gold and silver. Rows of stepped fibrous plaster surrounds commence from a large Art Deco designed half opened fan from the end splay wall takes the eye of the audience towards the screen. Surface finishing is in a gold and silver metallic coating, embellished with rising torch like silver decoration lit by uplighters from the base and concealed by fluted crenelations. The proscenium steps down from where the gilded ventilation shafts terminate the first two recesses having uplighters from the base roundel, note; below an entrance gate leading to access steps onto the stage. The final inner frame having coloured motifs painted onto three sides in two shades of red matching the rear of orchestra pit, here filled with palms.
