Liberty Theatre Lava Street, Warrnambool, VIC - Streetscape
Photo - The Liberty Theatre neon sign stands out like a beacon and can be seen on the left side of Lava Street
Robin James courtesy of Lost Warrnambool - I remember the Liberty Theatre- had a crying room for babies and small children. It had only one level - no fancy “lounge” upstairs.
Martin van Run courtesy of Lost Warrnambool - The Liberty Theatre evokes strong memories of the early 60s for me. Saturday afternoons at the “Pictures”, swapping comics with other kids (‘Got it’, ‘Already read that one’ etc) before, after and at half time, standing for God Save the Queen at the start of the session, a serial, news and two feature films. Fish and chips or a burger on the way home. What a way to keep kids occupied for a few hours!
