Queen City Twin Drive-In
From the cover of the Modern Theatre section of the June 14, 1974 issue of Boxoffice. I couldn’t find a copyright notice in the magazine; if it’s not there, this should be in the public domain. The original caption:
A spectacular 45-foot marquee that towers high above the entrance at Commonwealth Theatres' new Queen City Drive-In 1-2 in Springfield, Mo., is the subject of this month’s cover illustration. An eight-foot plexiglass crown finished in shades of purple and yellow adds a crowning touch to the impressive free-standing sign. Combined capacity of the new twin ozoner is 1,000 cars. Official opening date was March 29. Architectural plans were drawn up by Milton Costlow and Associates. Principal construction was done by Aton Brothers of Springfield.
