A 1978 view in downtown Portland, Oregon. The new Nordstrom department store, which replaced the Orpheum Theatre, rises behind the parking lot for Meier and Frank. This will become Pioneer Square. To the left can be seen the Studio Building, home of the Guild Theatre. In the block to the immediate left is the back of the Music Box Theatre, with its simple Yamhill Street marquee sign.
