This is one of the pair of semi-portable Simplex projectors that Vern Shattuck and William Tamblyn used at the Yuba theatre and on weekly traveling movie shows in the small Sierra Nevada towns like Truckee, Loyalton, Blairsden and Portola. Vern and Bill were partners in show business. They owned the Tahoe theatre and Brockway theatre in Kings Beach CA. They replaced the portables in the early 1970s with a pair of Wenzel projectors I had run at the Brockway.
