A 1918 Oregonian newspaper advertisement for the first Paramount Week includes The Multnomah Theater in the third column of “the Following Theaters.” The Multnomah opened in 1911 and was later renamed the St. Johns. In 1926 it became the Venetian. In 1937 it reverted to St. Johns, but was renamed again in 1960 to the Northgate Theater. In 1983 it was restored and renovated, with the St. Johns name also restored.
