This photograph was taken in July 1958 and shows the cinema several years after closure. The houses either side then were in fine condition at the time of this picture, gradually declining over the years. I see these too have been restored keeping the street and Electric Palace within its original time frame. I wonder if the house on the right retained its very tall chimney pots?

Dear Ron. I am the archivist for the Electric Palace in Harwich. I have not seen this photo before and wonder if you could send me a copy. It is of importance to me as it is a very rare shot of just after closure and shows a view of the houses to the right which were torn down at some point before the restoration and which supoorts a theory of mine that I am currently writing about.
