The Dress Circle Foyer.
Where the site allowed the full intended width of the theatre to be used once the restrictions imposed by the inability to acquire the adjoining shop had been passed, the beautiful Dress Circle foyer was reached by a short flight of stairs which occupied almost the full width of the main foyer. A noteworthy feature was the marble drinking fountain where I, for one, deeply appreciated the opportunity to slake my thirst with chilled water without having to purchase something from the refreshment bar.

Most wonderful meemories of this magnificent Theatre., as a child saw ‘Snow White’& many other Films i remember on entering the Metro, the large square rubber Tiles in Black & Yellow with a cut-out pattern. The large morrors with Gold Frames, everywhere was opulance! My last memorable memory was viewing ‘Mad Dogs & Englishmen'Joe Cocker i was 21 back then & when the Metro was going to be transformed into a couple of Boxes called Cinemas you knew these Grand Theatres were doomed! Some of these should have been Heritage Listed………..
