This photograph was taken in February 1962. Its ironic that the Savoy Cinema opened after the outbreak of World War II and showing the 1960 film “Mein Kampf” starring Paul Klinger. Visible to the right of photo are derelict houses awaiting demolition, a fate coming for the Savoy, giving the picture an eerie coldness.
