The Cremorne Orpheum was officially opened by local State Member of Parliament R. W. D. Weaver supported by local Mayor Robert Forsyth 8 p.m. Thursday 3rd October 1935 - program: “Alias Mary Dow” plus “Gay Love”. The two level auditorium had been licensed for 1735 persons under the N.S.W. Theatres & Public Halls Act on 26th September 1935. Current capacity of the entire six screen complex is 1604.
