Hello All: I have just posted a photo showing the Ohio Theatre taken on Nov.4, 1939 when Admiral Byrd’s newly built Snow Cruiser stopped in Conneaut on its way to Boston. The bulk of its 55 foot length is blocking the front of the State Theatre (directly behind the man standing on top of the cruiser) but the Ohio Theatre entrance, marquee and vertical sign are clearly shown. The Hotel Cleveland and the telephone building are both visible. If you Google “Snow Cruiser visits Conneaut” you can read the entire article written by Albert Phillips who was a young boy at the time. The Albion Library gave me permission to post the picture.
