Ads for the Paris Art Theatre, an adult venue, show the grand opening ad at right and the 2d anniversary ad at left. There would not be another as the theater - hounded constantly by police and sometimes robbed of its films by folks either wanting the adult films or wanting to rid Tulsa of the films - was finally rocked by a bomb in 1967.
And the unfortunate piece of information lost on this achievement was that it was, technically, the Gayety turned Roxy turned Uptown turned Patria turned Paris Art Theater’s Golden / 50th overall (and final) Anniversary. Oh well!
