The 79th Street Star Mall housing the cinema went under in 1983… but folks were still feeling good as on October 30, 1983, it rebooted as the successful Flea Market U.S.A. And somehow they booked James Brown, the Godfather of Soul, as the opening attraction just three days prior to his court date in Sacramento for failing to pay child support.
