Tower Cinema Skegness
This drawing by the Architects Alfred Thraves & Son of the new proposed Tower cinema in September 1950 when permits were issued to Reginald Kemp Managing Director of R L Kemp (Cinemas) Ltd., contractor was Metcalf Brothers of Doncaster. Certain portions of the original building, main roof and side walls were retained, while rebuilding entirely the front block and the construction of a new circle. The interior was entirely remodelled with additional seating capacity, the enlarged auditorium with new stage 32ft wide & 28ft deep, 8 dressing rooms were added for new stage shows and a new theatre organ installed. Interior decoration was in gold, crimson and autumn tints. The Tower was opened by Mrs Reginald Kemp on 6th July 1951.
