Original photograph of the Regent restaurant taken for the opening. Eugene Mollo designs for cinema restaurants shone through and were always outstanding in design and must have been a true experience to visit, when you view this Moderne Style it is hard to believe that it was 1934 when designed, the carpet and zebra striped upholstery would not be out of place today. The ceiling fibrous plaster work flows down either side into a gaping light fitting (see next photograph). Manufactured by F.H Pride of Clapham to Mollo’s specification, from very early in his career Mollo tightly controlled all aspects of his designs.
