Wests Theatre – Auditorium
The decor of this theatre was based on flowing lines and relatively plain surfaces which were lit by concealed neon tubes in the three primary colours, which could be varied by dimmers to make the walls appear to glow from within in any desired combination, creating a kaleidoscope of subtle beauty. it is this that distinguishes the Art Moderne style of architecture from the more ornate Art Deco from which it derives.
