This photograph shows the Embassy Cinema in it’s opening year 1937. I was lucky enough to have worked as projectionist in it’s final five years of operation until closure in December 1969. The final programme was the X rated comedy drama ( The Virgin Soldiers) starring Lynn Redgrave. The building still stands today unchanged, including the Embassy lettering. One hope’s that this former cinema will entertain the people of Tenterden again.
