The Plaza Theatre burned down in 1943 so theatrical operations returned to the former Gem and it launched on December 16, 1943 with Randolph Scott in “Bombardier" as the Topper Mr. and Mrs. Galen Stewart took on the venue on February 20, 1947 and relaunched as the Lyman Theatre with Lassie in “Courage of Lassie.”
